Our Progress and Achievements

Over the past five months, The Ruth Collective has achieved significant milestones, largely thanks to the unwavering commitment of our passionate volunteers and dedicated partners. We are progressing rapidly on several key foundations, including:

  • Marketing: The Ruth Collective is so thankful to have Sarah Cargill, Founder & Managing Director of Statement Co., as a She Persisted Level Sponsor. Statement Co. and Sarah have donated invaluable skills and knowledge as a strategic advisor, which helped us develop key initiatives, develop TRC’s Marketing Strategy and Branding, and design The Ruth Collective website.

  • Board Development: Six amazing women have joined our Board of Directors. Their expertise varies, but their commitment to the cause is unwavering. These powerful women, their strength and dedication, armed with immense knowledge and skills, will build and grow The Ruth Collective so that we can provide the care people deserve, especially those most impacted by restrictive barriers to reproductive and gender-affirming healthcare.

  • Social Media Marketing Interns: The Ruth Collective has staffed an amazing group of Interns who are diligently working on researching, developing, creating content, and writing to put our Marketing Strategy into practice. Each intern comes with a unique set of skills, experience, and background, and we are excited to have such a dedicated group that is dedicated to the cause and sharing their talent.

Current Challenges and Opportunities

While we celebrate our successes, we also acknowledge the challenges we face. We are currently navigating:

  • IRS 501(c)3 Determination: As we await the approval of our 501(c)3 application, we are working to develop forward-looking, sustainable strategies so that we can fund our programs and initiatives.

  • Process and Program Development: Increasing legislative actions, on both the federal and state levels, may continue to limit access to care for vulnerable communities. We are working with business consultants with expertise in organizational effectiveness and human-centered design, who are developing processes that will give us the opportunity to build, scale, and grow our programs to ensure sustainability, as well as flexibility, in an unpredictable political landscape.

We are optimistic about the opportunities ahead. We believe that by working together, we can overcome these challenges and continue to grow and be a positive influence in our communities.

Looking Ahead

We are excited about the future of The Ruth Collective. Our upcoming plans include:

  • Volunteer Training and Development: We are in the development process of The Ruth Training Program. We are working diligently to ensure our volunteers are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to make the most positive impact. We hope to launch our training program soon and will keep you informed.

  • Volunteer Recruitment: Help us recruit volunteers. The Ruth Collective needs a robust pool of volunteers from all states, but especially in states with extreme restrictions or total bans. In our first year, we will pilot our programs in 5 key states: GA, TN, KY, IN, and ID. Volunteers from the 5 key states are very much needed, and our recruitment will be focused heavily on these states.

If you have yet to attend a virtual volunteer informational session, we encourage you to do so. Our next sessions are scheduled for July 23rd at 5:30 pm EDT and again at 5:30 pm PDT.  If you would like to attend, please click here to register.

How You Can Help

While our current volunteer activity seems slow as we are developing our systems, processes, and programs, your continued involvement is crucial to our success. Here are a few ways you can further support The Ruth Collective:

  • Spread the Word: Share our mission with your friends, family, and network. Share our content on social media.

  • Recruit New Volunteers: Encourage others to join our team of dedicated volunteers.

  • Share information: Your insights and community knowledge are invaluable. Please share your resources, community, and organizational contacts that may help us build our collective and serve communities and states in the most impactful way. The collective is about building relationships and partnerships with volunteers, as well as other groups and organizations that have their finger on the pulse of local communities. If you would like to connect us with those groups, do not hesitate to reach out or encourage them to sign up for an info session.

Thank you once again for your extraordinary commitment to The Ruth Collective. We are profoundly grateful for your passion for the cause, and we look forward to building and growing our collective with you.

Sincerely,

Dana F. Hall
